Kevawn: A New Sound Exploding in the Underground.

Adjustments.jpeg

Kevawn mixes hip-hop, indie, and punk elements to create a new form of alternative hip hop. He really embodies his own sound and makes the track bang. His love for music and creating came from studying some of his inspirations such as Kanye West and Kid Cudi. In 2018, Kevawn dropped an EP entitled “GRIM”. This tape really shows off his love for translating his feelings into songs. The whole tape took on a darker and bitter vibe with lyrics and themes of sadness or, regret.

In 2020 alone, Kevawn has dropped three new singles. He’s been focused so much on his engineer work as well as his lyrical content. This hard work seems to pay of with crisp tracks like “Trial By Fire”. Each track has something with it that gives it a unique sound. From left field vocal mixing all the way to the instrumentals ranging from a trap banger to a punk anthem. Later this year Kevawn will be dropping his much anticipated project “Start Of Something Crazy”. Will you be there to enjoy or will your friends tell you to listen to it?

Tyquan a.k.a. Tdai is another artists paving his way out of Connecticut. Tdai claims that he’s still in search of his sounds and would consider himself a rapper but, above all else, a genuine artist. His sound is very versatile and ranges over many different genres and cultures. Tdai has a hard time comparing himself to other artists in the game right now but, he is inspired by the likes of Yachty, Sosa, and Soulja Boy. This creates a catchy sound that manifests a vibe everytime.

“Cancun” is a song that Tdai holds close. Featuring his friend Tboytynelly. The track is all about moving out and linking up with some exotic weather and enjoying life. The song reminds us of late hits from the 2010’s like “Tuesday” and “Japan”. The synths are in your face but the vocals are even closer and, along with the rhythmic banging drums, the track comes together seamlessly. This track is worth a couple minutes out of your day.
