Terry Blade: A Master Class Song-Writer at His Best.

Terry Blade is an award-winning singer songwriter based out of, Chicago, Illinois. He is known for his deep baritone approach to explore a sound that fuses soul, R&B, and jazz with; Blues, indie, and Folk. His sound draws comparison with greats such as Sam Smith, Open Mike Eagle, and Tracy Chapman. Terry recently channeled his artistic energy to make a strong debut in the spring of 2020 and he just dropped an album that can last the test of time.

“American Descendant of Slavery, The Album.” is a deeply rooted, aimless piece of music that; dives into the emotional and mental struggles of growing up black in America. This album dives into themes of childhood trauma with the dry yet, warm, “Mr. Robertson” and many very real and current themes of racism that we see today. This album has very dark moments like the infinitely groovy and somber, “Black Hurts” but, the album maintains a sense of hope in tomorrow. Terry sounds hurt throughout this whole album but, maintains this strong energy and tone in his voice. Terry is among the many artists fighting for tomorrow and he did it so flawlessly with groovy rhythms and bold song writing. As stated before, “American Descendant of Slavery, The Album.” is a timeless body of work that deserves years of recognition and praise. You need to check this album out. Especially if you love jazz and soul music.

Devious Dreams: A Sound with Ambition and Experimentation.

Jeremy Snow is a Toronto based producer with a very unique sound and quality. He is sure to catch your ear almost instantaneously with his genius work with accents and effects. Under the stage name, Devious Dreams, Jeremy goes the mile to create the best soundscapes possible using the perfect sound selection. Jeremy has had his fair share of influence from working along side a high school band as well as, a local Toronto Metalcore band “The Good Die Young”. Devious Dreams is more of a LoFi sound focused on sound manipulation because that’s something Jeremy started to fall in love with. He loves all the parts of production and having the ability to create his own sound. Devious Dreams tracks are filled with exciting progressions and sonically pleasing synth waves. It’s very obvious that Jeremy has a well crafted sound with hours and hours of perfecting his craft. The sound comes off crispy and clean every time, real “cream of the crop” in the underground.

MAR$H: A New Gem Found in the Underground of Texas.

Texas native, MAR$H, has an sound filled with energy and exploration. Dropping clever bars over jam packed instrumentals. Taking inspiration from musicians like, MF DOOM and Mike Jones; MAR$H delivers heavy production that has the sound of years of practice as well as, crafting seamless lyrical bars. He describes his sound as dark and spacious with villainous soundscapes and well crafted instrumentals. In our opinion, this is one hundred percent the truth and if you’re willing to dive into a track or two you will also be swallowed whole by the genius mixes MAR$H has. Brining a new life to well known chords and sounds. MAR$H is a man that stays moving from working on his music to creating content for his youtube channel. He is a creative that is trying his best to climb out of the hole he grew in and we think there’s a lot of potential here. Not only is MAR$H a talented rapper and producer but, the man has a great personality filled with humor and wit.

His tape “Spooky FM” is the collection of songs that really caught our attention. With explosive bass samples over creative synth noises and emotions, MAR$H goes insane from topics about putting on his team and not being the gangster so many artists fake to be. The tape runs about 9 tracks long and does a lot of exploration in the little time it has. Theres the classic “Whole Lotta Red” sounding track inside of “IC Champ” and then a complete left turn in the LoFi sound we get inside of “NO talkin’”. You can find his artist work under the name MAR$H or his production under the name “supalilghost”. Either way, this man is developing his own sound and we cannot recommend him enough. KAYRXN: A New Voice Climbing Out of Baltimore.

Baltimore native, KAYRXN is the counter culture to the Baltimore gangster rap scene that has been prominent most if not, all of his life. KAYRXN wants to break the mold of the reputation in his city and become something great just by being himself. This means that nothing is off limits to KAYRXN’s sound. He keep evolving with every track creating a solid track around some very interesting and fun instrumentals. 

“DEMON TRIP” is one of KAYRXN’s newest tracks. With a psychedelic sound, KAYRXN, drops hard bars and gets aggressive with his vocals. Bells chime and synths race past your head as the drums get your body moving. Everything about this track has an infectious texture to it that makes you want to listen over and over again. The instrumental is smooth and KAYRXN keeps the whole thing moving perfectly with catch flows that don’t miss a beat. This is defintley a new artist for you to fall in love with.
